Cher with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo

With enormous regret, Cher has announced the cancellation of all remaining dates on her Dressed To Kill (D2K) concert tour.  Shortly before returning to the road in September, she was felled by an infection that affected her kidney function.  While her progress has been consistent, Cher’s doctors have advised her to take more time to ensure a complete and total recovery.

For the Lubbock, Texas show, refunds may be obtained starting Monday, November 24 at the Select-a-Seat box office located at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, located at 1501 Mac Davis Lane.  The Select-a-Seat box office is open Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm.  For additional information about returning tickets, please contact Select-a-Seat at (806) 770-2000.

Madrigal Dinners

Mixing in a measure of Christmas cheer is Lubbock Moonlight Musicals third annual production of Madrigal Dinners!  The show will take place from December 18-23, and feature vocal solos, duets, trios, and choral music from the Renaissance to the present.  There will be plays, dances, and much audience participation.  Come join the King and Queen while they celebrate the Yuletide season!
Please note that the table layout will be determined by ticket sales, however the higher priced tables will be located closer to the action.  Choose from either a King, Queen or Knight table through the links below.

Neil Berg's Broadway Holiday

Neil Berg's Broadway Holiday comes to Lubbock direct from New York with five of Broadway's brightest stars - Jeannette Bayardelle, Liz Callaway, Lawrence Clayton, Chuck Wagner, Danny Zolli – to perform a Holiday Concert you won’t forget! The show will usher in Christmas with favorite holiday tune both traditional and from Broadway, along with some of Broadway’s greatest show tunes. An exciting addition to the show: a children’s chorus from Lubbock will join the production for a couple of numbers to sing alongside the Broadway Stars!

Moonlight Ball

Looking for a special way to commence the New Year?  Bring out your finery and join Lubbock Moonlight Musicals this New Year’s Eve for their first ever Moonlight Ball!  This charming formal event will feature dining, dancing, and delightful 1940’s era musical hits.  The evening will begin with buffet style hors d’oeuvres, and light jazz tunes for entertainment.  The second segment of the evening will contain a sumptuous meal by Honeychild Catering; a ballroom for your dancing pleasure; and vocal performances by Moonlight Musicals best vocalists, accompanied by Alan Shinn’s big band orchestra.  Also included will be floor-show performances by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers; silly skits by Larry, Moe, and Curly; and special appearances by several guest artists.  To polish off the evening will be a scrumptious dessert selection and a champagne toast to usher in the New Year.   Come dance the night away with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Billie Holiday, and many more at Lubbock Moonlight Musicals’ Moonlight Ball: Revival of the Greats!

Stand-up comic and Longview, Texas native Rodney Carrington’s “Here Comes the Truth” tour will hit Lubbock’s City Bank Auditorium January 24, 2015

Carrington has made a name for himself with a wild comedy act, but he’s also a musician with six studio albums under his belt. The black cowboy hat-wearing comic will take the stage in Lubbock, Texas Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

The comedian has just release two of his albums on his very own label, Laughter’s Good. He also started a brand-new YouTube series called Bit by Bit.

The Clothesline Muse promises to engage audiences with a dynamic mix of artistic disciplines from live music, dance and spoken word to video projections and interactive art. A cast of six performers and six-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon as “The Muse” take on the eternal chore of washing clothes, elevating the seemingly mundane task to new heights with generational wisdom, colorful imagery and original dance and song.

The Clothesline Muse was made possible with funding by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Theater Project, with lead funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Community outreach for this program was funded in part by a grant from the Sybil B. Harrington Endowment for the Arts of the Lubbock Area Foundation.

Annual Gala: Masquerade

Entitled Masquerade, our Annual Gala serves as the Chorale's most important fundraiser for scholarships.  This elegant evening event, with the audience seated at tables of eight, will be held in the lovely ballroom of The Legacy Event Center and will include a full dinner menu.  Patrons will enjoy entertaining music performed by the Chorale, talented soloists from the Chorale, and a jazz combo.  Prior to the concert portion of the evening and during intermissions, the audience will peruse a silent auction and raffle of donated items that will help fund our scholarship to students of the Texas Tech University School of Music.

Robert Hass is, first of all, a poet of great eloquence, clarity, and force, whose work is rooted in the landscapes of his native Northern California. Widely read and much honored, he has brought the kind of energy in his poetry to his work as an essayist, translator, and activist on behalf of poetry, literacy, and the environment. Awarded the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, twice the National Book Critics’ Circle Award (in 1984 and 1997), and the Yale Series of Younger Poets in 1973, Robert Hass is a professor of English at UC Berkeley.

Riyaaz Qawwali

Riyaaz Qawwali, a dynamic ensemble of 8 musicians, was established in 2006 in Austin, Texas under the leadership of Sonny K. Mehta, A classically trained musician.  The Qawwali genre is characterized by its dynamic rhythmic cycles, gripping melodies, as well as illustrious improvisational poetry.  The songs are usually sung in Persian, Urdu, Purbi and Punjabi, and the main themes are affection, devotion, and longing for the Divine. 

The performance is brought to you by the Fine Arts Academy of India, India Association of West Texas, and the Lubbock Arts Festival.
