Historic Non-Profit Theatre Signs Agreement with TICKETsage

AUGUSTA, GA – The Imperial Theatre and TICKETsage, Inc., announced today the two companies have signed an exclusive, multi-year ticketing agreement. The partnership will empower the theatre to sell tickets in real time through their box office, telephone sales and the Internet.

The Imperial Theatre, which opened in 1918 as The Wells and counts Charlie Chaplin among its legendary visitors, is listed on the National Register. The non-profit theatre relies on community contributions and an endowment fund to cover operating expenses, and did not have room in its budget for an expensive box office system.

The theatre’s box office staff needed a flexible solution that would allow them to sell tickets not only for events sponsored by the Imperial, but also for the multiple arts groups—including the Augusta Opera, Augusta Ballet, and Augusta Jazz Project—that perform regularly at the Imperial.

TICKETsage does not charge costly set-up or maintenance fees, and could provide a powerful system tailored to the theatre’s needs without straining their limited finances.
